Dependent upon the weather, or your thoughts at the time, you can explore up the river towards Warkworth with the imposing ruined Norman Castle, or sail further downstream into the harbour. Within the harbour environs you can sail through the old pilings into the sheltered wave basin and beach for a family pic-nic. Thanks to the car park and easy walk down through the dunes on the Northside your non sailing friends or family can even join you on the beach so soak up the atmosphere as you show off your sailing prowess to them.
Feeling a bit more adventurous? Then head out through the piers into the stunning scenery of the Northumberland coastline with her magnificent history and views.
The club has its own RIB that is used for safety boat cover when the dinghies are out on the water whether for a blast, play or race.
The club has hosted touring catamaran racing events hosting 20+ high performance catamarans over a weekend yet still caters for the day family cruise in the club owned Laser Bahias. Regular dinghies seen setting off from the Club’s paved slip have included anything from mirror sailing dinghy through the Club owned Bahias, into high performance RS dinghies and even up to 19 foot Prindle catamarans or Hobie 17. The area can suit all boat types and sailing skill levels.
Onsite storage is available for your own dinghy if you require.
